Mysterious as strange coloured skies and forged in the grit of the Great White North, Lights Above the Mesa brings a heavy dose of greasy, clever Southern and Classic Rock that’s as captivating as the night lights over a desert mesa.
This all-star crew of veteran Ottawa touring musicians blends raw swagger with sharp musicianship, dodging clichés and igniting crowds, whether they’re tearing up a small-town fair or owning a festival stage as headliners.
01 A vibe band
LATM is not a tribute act. It’s a vibe band, and they call that vibe greasy swagger.
What is greasy swagger, exactly? Start by imagining the band in the bar on an episode of Yellowstone. They don’t play a song just to fill a setlist. The repertoire is carefully curated to create memorable musical moments, and that means the deep cuts real Southern Rock fans came for, not just the hits everyone already knows.
“Imagine a band in a bar on an episode of Yellowstone for starters.” What greasy swagger sounds like
02 Fewer nights, bigger ones
Every member of LATM has played hundreds of shows with other acts, so the band limits its yearly appearances. It serves two purposes: it gives both the crowd and the band a better night, and it avoids market saturation, which ultimately maximizes the return for the venue.
03 Easy in, easy out
Years of professional experience have taught LATM to value ease and simplicity at load-in and load-out. They’re fully digital and travel with their own complete in-ear monitor system.
